Classes - Conformation
Capital now teaches two levels of Conformation.
Beginning Conformation Class
Who should take one of these classes? Anybody who is a novice (has never shown
in conformation or has very limited experience) and has not finished a dog.
Course content:
- Familiarity with breed standards and their importance
- Canine anatomy terminology
- Proper equipment use for exhibiting specific breeds
- Show procedures and attitude
- Movement patterns
- Ring appearance
- Good sportsmanship
Advanced Conformation Class
Who should take this class? Anyone currently exhibiting a dog
or has at least a year exhibiting and has put a conformation title on a dog themselves.
This does not include someone who has used a professional handler
who finished their dog.
Course content:
- Reviewing your specific breed standard
to evaluate your dog's faults and positives
- Show attitude and good sportsmanship
- Nonverbal signs from judges
- Stacking your dog considering the breed
- Movement patterns
- Ring appearance
